How to play

A spiral tower ball-drop game in a crystal mine: turn the tower so your bouncing comet drops through the gaps, and fall through three ledges in a row to catch fire and smash the next one whole. One continuous plunge through 100 levels in 10 chapters while the shaft caves in behind you.

  1. The comet bounces on its own. Drag sideways (or hold ← →) to turn the tower so a gap swings under it.
  2. Drop through three ledges without a bounce and the comet catches fire: the next ledge it touches is smashed, red crystal and all. Six in a row make a Blaze that smashes two.
  3. Landing on red spike crystal costs a life; the crystal is cleared and you bounce on at once with a moment of safety.
  4. Every level opens through a glowing gate; keep dropping, because the Collapse follows you down the shaft.
  5. Grab gems and power-up orbs in the gaps: Shield, Gem Magnet, Drill, Feather, Score ×2 and 1-UP.

Controls

  • ← → or A / D to turn the tower
  • P or Esc to pause

On a touchscreen: Drag sideways anywhere to turn the tower.

About Spiral Plunge

Spiral Plunge is a spiral tower ball-drop game set in a glowing crystal mine. Your comet bounces by itself on the ledge below it; you turn the whole tower so a gap swings under it, and it drops to the next ledge. Fall through three ledges without touching one and it catches fire, and the next ledge it hits is blown apart in a shower of crystal, red spikes included. The plunge never stops: each level is a band of rings that starts with a glowing gate over a short chute, so every new level opens with a fireball dive, and from the gentle Quartz Gallery to the lava vents of Heart of the Mountain there are 100 levels in 10 chapters. Each chapter adds a ledge or hazard: glass that cracks, spinner rings, spring pads, sticky tar, lodestones that tug the comet, crystals that grow and shrink, sliding ice shards, light beams, locked ring pairs and fire jets. Every tenth level ends on a Geode Heart you crack open, and after level 100 the depths go on with endless mixed levels.

Spiral Plunge is a Rankeno Play original, first released in 2026. It runs free in any modern browser on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install, and every finished plunge is ranked on the Rankeno Play leaderboards.

Spiral Plunge tips and strategy

  • Chain your drops. A ledge you fall through is worth 10 points times the chapter number, multiplied by its place in the plunge (x1 for the first after a bounce, up to x5), so five ledges in one fall pay far more than five separate drops.
  • Fire is your best defence: once the comet is lit, red crystal no longer hurts and a smash pays 50 times the chapter number plus 20 for every crystal cluster it destroys. Aim a fireball at the ledge with the most red on it.
  • Watch the soft shadow under the comet. It sits exactly where you will land and turns red when that spot is spike crystal, so turn until it is dark again.
  • The Collapse follows you down the shaft: it starts slow, speeds up from level 4 and catches you only if you stall for several seconds on one ledge. If it gets close, drop through the nearest gap rather than waiting for a better one.
  • Glass cracks on the first bounce and shatters on the second, so a glass pane is a way down when no gap lines up. Springs throw you up about twice as high, which buys time to line up the next gap.
  • Clear three levels in a row without losing a life for a bonus life (up to 5). Each clean level also pays 100 times the chapter number, and breaking a Geode Heart gives a life back too.

Spiral Plunge FAQ

What happens when I land on the red crystal in Spiral Plunge?
You lose one of your lives, but the run does not stop: the crystal you hit is cleared, the comet bounces back up with a second and a half of safety and the plunge carries on at the same pace. When the comet is on fire, drilling or shielded, red crystal does not hurt at all.
How do the levels and Geode Hearts work in Spiral Plunge?
Levels are bands of the shaft, from 22 ledges at level 1 to 67 at level 100, and each one begins at a glowing gate you fall through without stopping. Every tenth level ends on a Geode Heart: crack its armour by landing on it between the orbiting crystals, or hit it while on fire to crack three layers at once.
Is Spiral Plunge free to play?

Can I play Spiral Plunge on my phone or tablet?

How do the Spiral Plunge leaderboards work?
When you are signed in, every finished run is submitted automatically; a run you leave part-way does not count. Played as a guest? Sign in within an hour in the same browser tab and your guest scores are posted too.
