How to play

An arcade tennis game where your player runs to every ball and you only swing: let go of a swipe as the timing ring closes, and its slant aims the shot. Beat a new rival in one short match per level across 100 levels in 10 chapters, with power-ups waiting on targets on the far court.

  1. Your player runs to every ball by itself. A ring closes on the contact point: swipe up and let go as it closes, or press Space or Enter.
  2. The slant of the swipe aims the shot, out to the alley lines at the edges. A normal swipe is a drive (longer goes deeper), a short one a drop shot and a long one a lob, and a high short ball turns any swipe into a smash. A tap on the far court hits toward that spot.
  3. Let go inside the gold band for a PERFECT power shot. GOOD and OK still get the ball back, but slower and easier for the rival to return.
  4. Win the match to clear the level: first to 5 points at the start, then 6, then win-by-2 matches to 6 and 7 (finals need one point more). A lost match costs a life and replays the level against a new rival.
  5. Bounce a shot inside a glowing target on the rival’s side to claim its power-up. Rallies heat up: 6 hits make a HOT RALLY (points ×2) and 12 a SCORCHER (×3).

About Ace Alley

Ace Alley is arcade tennis cut down to the part that feels best: the swing. Your player sprints to every ball on its own, a ring closes on the spot where the racket will meet the ball, and you let go of a swipe as it closes. The slant of the swipe sets the aim, all the way out to the alleys at the edges of the doubles court, and its length picks the shot: a drive, a drop shot that stops short near the net, a lob over a rival rushing in, or a smash off a high short ball. Let go inside the gold band and it is a PERFECT power shot that pushes the rival back. Each level is one short match, first to 5 points early in the tour and longer win-by-2 matches near the end, with one point more in every final, and the rival’s mistakes are called out as NET, LONG or WIDE, so every point shows how it was won. The tour runs 100 levels in ten chapters (Park Court, Clay, Grass, Night Hard Court, Beach, Rooftop, Indoor Arena, Wind Court, Rain Court and The Finals), each with its own surface or twist, a trophy final at every tenth level and a target-practice round in the middle of every chapter. Seven power-ups, from Big Racket to Gold Ball, wait on targets across the net, and after level 100 the courts keep cycling as an endless tour.

Ace Alley is an original game made for Rankeno Play and first released in 2026. It plays free in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer with nothing to install, and every finished run by a signed-in player is ranked on the Rankeno Play leaderboards.

Ace Alley tips and strategy

  • Watch the ring, not the rival. A PERFECT release in the gold band is a power shot that puts the rival on the back foot, while an OK release floats back as an easy ball it can push you around with.
  • Mix up where you hit. Send three shots in a row to the same third of the court, keep serving the same way or keep dropping short, and READING YOU appears: the rival leans that way, gets there sooner and sends it back with more pace.
  • The alleys are worth the risk. A winner that lands in the strip between the singles and doubles lines earns an ALLEY bonus, but the very edge of the outer line is touchy: some balls clip it for JUST IN and the rest are called WIDE.
  • When a rival comes in to the net, a long swipe lobs the ball over its head toward the baseline. Against one camped far behind the baseline, a short swipe drop shot is the better answer, as long as you do not use it every time.
  • Long rallies build heat. At 6 hits the point becomes a HOT RALLY worth double and at 12 a SCORCHER worth triple, and the rival starts to miss more, but your ring tightens too, so keep your timing steady.
  • Targets stay on the far court for three points. Bounce a shot inside one to claim it: Big Racket widens your sweet spot, Slow Ball takes pace off the rival’s shots, Backboard sends the next ball that gets past you back into play, and Gold Ball triples the points for the next point you win.

Ace Alley FAQ

How do I aim in Ace Alley?
The slant of your swipe is the aim: straight up goes down the middle, and a full slant reaches the outer alley line on that side. On a keyboard, move the aim marker with the left and right arrows (or A and D) and press Space. You can also tap or click a spot on the rival’s half of the court, and the shot heads toward it.
What happens when I lose a match in Ace Alley?
It costs one life, and you play the same level again against a new rival. You start with 3 lives and can hold up to 5: winning the final at every tenth level gives one back, and so does the rarer +1 Life power-up from level 15. Losing a match on your last life ends the run.
Is Ace Alley free to play?
Yes. Ace Alley is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.
Can I play Ace Alley on my phone or tablet?
Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the portrait stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: swipe up and lift as the ring closes: the slant aims, the length picks the shot; tap a spot on the far court to hit there; tap to skip the match banner. On a computer: Space or Enter swings; ←/→ or A/D move the aim marker; hold ↑/W for a lob or ↓/S for a drop shot; Mouse: drag up and release to swing, or click a spot on the far court; a swing skips the match banner.
