How to play

A one-thumb tower climber: hold a side to run, let go to jump, and the faster you run the higher Kip the fox leaps. Skip two or more ledges at a time to chain combos, bounce off the walls for extra height and end every chain in a burst of fireworks while the tower rises through 100 levels in 10 chapters.

  1. Hold the left or right half of the screen (or an arrow key) to run that way. Let go to jump; on a keyboard, press Space to jump.
  2. The longer the run-up, the higher the jump. A jump that lands two or more ledges higher is a leap, and leaps in a row build a combo.
  3. The combo fuse burns while you stand on a ledge. A short hop, a drop to a lower ledge or a burnt fuse ends the combo and scores it in fireworks.
  4. Hit a side wall at speed in mid-air to rebound off it; keep holding and you run the other way.
  5. The tower rises on its own. Drop below the bottom edge and you lose a life; you start with 3.

Controls

  • ← → or A D to run
  • Space, ↑ or W to jump
  • P or Esc to pause

On a touchscreen: Hold a side to run, lift your thumb to jump.

About Spire Sprint

Spire Sprint is a one-thumb tower climber about momentum. Kip, a round fox kit in red sneakers and a long cyan scarf, runs while you hold a side and jumps the moment you let go, and the jump grows with the run-up: a full sprint clears several ledges at once. Landing two or more ledges higher is a leap, leaps in a row are a combo, and when the combo ends it bursts into fireworks off both walls, worth the ledges gained times the number of leaps. Side walls are part of the move: hit one at speed in mid-air and Kip rebounds 8 % faster with the held side flipped, so one thumb can chain rebound after rebound up the shaft. The tower rises at a pace set only by your best height, so it never resets after a level or a lost life.

The climb runs through 100 levels in 10 chapters, each ending at a full-width lantern ledge, and every chapter adds a new kind of ledge: slippery ice, wooden planks that crack and drop, conveyors, sliding crystal, sticky gum and bouncy jelly, vanishing cloud puffs with gusts, ticking clockwork gears and blinking neon. Levels 5, 15, 25 and so on are star showers, and every tenth level is a race against Rook the raccoon, with the Grand Race to the summit bell at level 100 and the endless Skyward tower beyond. Spire Sprint is an original game made for Rankeno Play and first released in 2026; play it free in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and your best climbs are ranked on the Rankeno Play leaderboards.

Spire Sprint tips and strategy

  • Run before you jump. Jump speed grows with run speed, so a short run along a wide ledge carries you two or three ledges up, where a standing jump only reaches the next one.
  • Keep the chain going. The fuse only burns while you stand still on a ledge: 1.5 seconds on levels 1 and 2, about 1 second by level 10 and 0.52 seconds by level 100. Land, steer and let go again before it runs out.
  • A combo scores the ledges gained times the number of leaps (counted up to 10) times 10 points times the chapter, so a long chain of big leaps is worth far more than many short ones. At 6, 12, 25, 50 and 100 ledges it turns into a Sparkler, Rocket, Starburst, Supernova and Galaxy combo.
  • Use the walls. Each wall rebound in a leap adds 3 to the combo, up to two per jump, and the rebound sends you back out faster than you came in.
  • Power-ups unlock as you climb: Spring Shoes from level 1 (40 % higher jumps for 10 s), Combo Saver from 3, Jet Burst from 6 (up 10 ledges), Safety Bubble from 8, Slow Scroll from 12 and the rare Extra Life from 25.
  • Beat Rook to the lantern ledge on every tenth level for a big bonus and a life back. You start with 3 lives and can hold 5, and a fall pops you back up in a bubble with full control.

Spire Sprint FAQ

What ends a combo in Spire Sprint?
A combo ends when a jump lands less than two ledges higher (a short hop), when you drop to a lower ledge, or when the fuse burns out while you stand on a ledge. It then scores if it had at least two leaps and a value of 4 or more. A Combo Saver forgives one break.
Does the tower slow down after I lose a life?
No, the tower rises at a speed set by the highest ledge you have reached, from half a ledge per second at the start to about 2.3 ledges per second around level 100, and a lost life does not reset it. You pop back up in a bubble 30 % up the view and keep climbing at once.
Is Spire Sprint free to play?
Yes. Spire Sprint is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.
Can I play Spire Sprint on my phone or tablet?
Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the portrait stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: hold a side to run, lift your thumb to jump. On a computer: ← → or A D to run; Space, ↑ or W to jump.
How do the Spire Sprint leaderboards work?
When you are signed in, every finished run is submitted automatically; a run you leave part-way does not count. Played as a guest? Sign in within an hour in the same browser tab and your guest scores are posted too. Boards rank one best score per player (highest points first) for Today, This week and All time, globally or among your friends. Today and This week reset at midnight UTC, and the week starts on Monday.
