Steer an arc around the ring and crack a spinning core

  • Drag anywhere or point with the mouse: your arc slides around the ring toward that angle. ←/→ or A/D turn it too.
  • Tap, click or press Space to launch the spark. Where it hits the arc, and how fast the arc is moving, sets the bounce.
  • Break most of the bricks outside the inner shield to open the heart, then hit the heart to shatter the rest for a bonus.

How to play Core Breaker

Slide your arc around the ring to keep the spark in play, break through rotating layers of bricks and strike the glowing heart to clear each stage.

About Core Breaker

Core Breaker is a brick-breaker arcade game turned inside out. Instead of a wall of bricks above a flat paddle, you guard a whole ring: your paddle is an arc that slides around the rim, and the bricks form concentric layers around a molten heart, each layer spinning at its own speed and in its own direction. A spark that slips past the arc is lost, so every rebound off the core becomes a race to the right spot on the rim. Stages add layers, steel bricks that need two or three hits, swaying rotation and a faster spark.

This one is a Rankeno Play original, first released in 2026. It plays free in any modern browser on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install, and runs finished by signed-in players are ranked on the Rankeno Play leaderboards.

Core Breaker tips and strategy

  • Watch the rim. Whenever the spark is on a straight path out of the core, a marker shows where it will cross the ring: green when your arc already covers that spot, red when it does not.
  • The arc sets the angle. A hit on its centre sends the spark straight back at the heart, a hit near either end bends it by up to about 43 degrees, and moving the arc as it strikes adds up to 17 degrees more in the direction you are turning.
  • Get the spark behind a layer. Every brick broken before the spark touches your arc again raises the chain bonus by 5, up to +40 per brick, so a spark rattling between two layers is worth far more than single hits.
  • The heart opens once 85 percent of the bricks outside its inner shield are gone, or when only three are left. Striking it pays 250 plus 50 per stage (up to stage 10) and shatters every brick still standing for 5 points, or 10 and 15 for steel.
  • Gem bricks drop capsules that drift outward, worth 25 points when caught. Wide Arc and Magnet last 15 seconds, Slow-Mo runs the spark and the core at 60 percent speed for 10 seconds while your arc keeps full speed, and Multi-Spark splits every ball in three, up to six at once.
  • The arc shrinks a little every stage, from about 34 degrees of the ring at stage 1 to about 21 degrees at stage 11, and the spark starts faster each stage until stage 12, so treat every Wide Arc capsule as a priority.

Core Breaker FAQ

How does the Magnet work in Core Breaker?

While Magnet is active, a spark that touches your arc sticks to it and an aim line sweeps from side to side. Tap, click or press Space to fire along the line, or it fires by itself after 2.5 seconds. A fresh serve at the start of a stage or after a lost spark works the same way and launches itself after 5 seconds.

Can the spark get stuck bouncing forever?

No. After five bounces off the arc in a row without touching a brick, each further bounce gets a small extra tilt, toward the centre whenever the shot is angled wide, and an open heart slowly swells if it has not been hit within about 8 seconds, so every rally works its way back to the core.

Is Core Breaker free to play?

Yes. Core Breaker is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.

Can I play Core Breaker on my phone or tablet?

Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the portrait stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: drag anywhere to steer the arc; tap, or lift your finger, to launch. On a computer: Mouse: point to steer, click to launch; ←/→ or A/D turn the arc; Space, Enter or ↑ launches.

How do the Core Breaker leaderboards work?

When you are signed in, every finished run is submitted automatically; guest scores are not saved. Boards rank one best score per player (highest points first) for Today, This week and All time, globally or among your friends. Today and This week reset at midnight UTC, and the week starts on Monday.
