How to play

A maze battle arcade game with fireworks instead of explosions: light fuses on a grid of hedges and crates, chain blasts through barrels and rival fuses, and pop every bot before the sparkler ring closes in. Climb 100 levels in ten chapters with a boss on every tenth.

  1. Walk the grid and light a fuse where you stand. About two and a half seconds later it bursts in a cross of stars that breaks crates and pops anyone standing in its lanes, you included, so step out of line first.
  2. Broken crates drop power-ups: longer blasts, more fuses at once, faster shoes, and later Kick, Shield, Remote and Pierce. They stay with you from level to level, but being caught costs your newest one.
  3. A blast that touches another fuse or a festival barrel sets it off a moment later. Chains multiply every point in them, and a chain you start counts as yours even when it runs through a rival’s fuse.
  4. Pop every bot to win the round. When the round clock runs out the sparkler ring closes the board from the edges inward, so the last stand happens in the middle.
  5. You have 3 hearts (up to 5). Lose one and you replay the level on a fresh board; lose them all and the run ends.

About Fuse Grid

Fuse Grid is a maze battle arcade game played on a square grid of hedges, crates and festival barrels. You play a little firework keeper in a gold helmet, and every fuse you light bursts into a cross of stars that breaks crates, sets off other fuses and pops the cheeky bots who share the board with you. They play by your rules: the same tiles, the same fuse timers and the same power-ups, and their blasts catch you just as easily as yours catch them. The run climbs through 100 levels in ten chapters, from the Garden and the Toy Box to the Ice Palace, the Conveyor Factory, the Portal Maze, the Desert Ruins, the Jungle, Neon City, the Lava Keep and the Grand Arena. Each chapter adds one board trick, such as spring pads that fling fuses over walls, ice that keeps you sliding, belts, portals, quicksand or lava vents, and ends with a boss round against a big, slow rival with its own telegraphed pattern.

Fuse Grid is an original Rankeno Play game, first released in 2026. It is free to play in the browser on phones, tablets and computers with nothing to download, it works with touch, mouse or keyboard, and a finished run can be posted to the ranked Rankeno Play leaderboards.

Fuse Grid tips and strategy

  • Watch the ring around every fuse: it empties as the wick burns and turns red in the last 0.6 seconds. Every timer on the board is visible, so you can always count how long a lane stays safe.
  • Bots notice a freshly lit fuse a moment late, almost a second on level 1 and under a fifth of a second by level 100. Light a fuse in the lane a bot is walking along, or in the only corridor out of its corner.
  • A chain multiplies all its points by its length, up to eight times, and three or more links make a SHOW with rockets in the sky. Festival barrels burst three tiles in every direction, so a fuse next to one reaches much further than its own blast.
  • Slipping out of a lane in the last 0.3 seconds before it fires is a CLOSE dodge worth 100 points. The round win pays 1,000 plus 20 for every second left on the clock, and every point grows 5% per level, so fast wins deep in the run are worth chasing.
  • From level 4, crates, chains and pops fill the Grand Finale meter under the top bar. When it is full your next fuse is a glowing rocket with a gold star that runs wall to wall through crates; you get one per round, so save it for a bot in a long corridor.
  • A boss is big: a blast that only passes next to it still lands. Big Bloom on level 10 plants a ring of seed fuses around itself, and setting those seeds off with your own blast hits it with its own flowers.

Fuse Grid FAQ

What happens when Fuse Grid’s round clock runs out?
The sparkler ring starts. Glowing posts close the board one tile at a time from the outer edge in a spiral toward the middle, every tile glows red before it closes, and a closed tile catches anyone standing on it. The middle nine tiles close last, after a short hold, so a round always ends, but the ring also squeezes everyone into a small space where a single well-placed fuse decides it.
Do I keep my power-ups after I am caught?
Mostly. Range, extra fuses, speed and Kick stay with you across levels, capped at six tiles of range, five fuses and four speed steps. Each time you are caught you lose only the newest one you picked up, and never drop below the starting kit of one fuse with a two-tile blast. Shield, Remote and Pierce are short-term instead: a Shield saves you once, and Remote and Pierce last three rounds.
Is Fuse Grid free to play?
Yes. Fuse Grid is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.
Can I play Fuse Grid on my phone or tablet?
Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the portrait stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: drag anywhere to walk (a stick appears under your thumb); tap to light a fuse, also with a second finger while you walk; tap the Remote chip to set off waiting fuses. On a computer: Arrows / WASD walk; Space lights a fuse; E or Shift sets off Remote fuses; Enter skips a pause; mouse: hold the button to walk toward the pointer, click to light a fuse.
How do the Fuse Grid leaderboards work?
When you are signed in, every finished run is submitted automatically; a run you leave part-way does not count. Played as a guest? Sign in within an hour in the same browser tab and your guest scores are posted too. Boards rank one best score per player (highest points first) for Today, This week and All time, globally or among your friends. Today and This week reset at midnight UTC, and the week starts on Monday.
