How to play

A penalty shootout game where you play both ends: drag to shoot past their keeper, then swipe to dive against their kicker. Read the keeper's lean and the kicker's glance and plant foot, beat free-kick walls and wind, and win 100 football shootouts across ten chapters.

  1. Your kick: drag up from the ball and let go. Drag sideways to aim left or right and further up to aim higher; a drag that curves bends the ball, and a drag that first dips down and then goes up is a lob.
  2. Watch their keeper before you shoot. A keeper who leans and steps to one side dives that way, arms spread wide means he stays on his line, and bouncing on his toes means he waits to see the ball.
  3. Their kick: swipe left or right to dive, or tap the spot in the goal where you want your gloves. Tap the middle of the goal to stand big. The kicker looks at his corner on the run-up and plants his foot toward it just before the strike.
  4. Each level is a best-of-five shootout that stops as soon as it is decided, then sudden death at level scores. A win moves you on; a loss costs one of your lives and you replay the level in a rematch.
  5. Every tenth level is a final against a star keeper with a trick of his own, and every fifth level is a bonus round of rings or saves that cannot be lost.

About Spot Kick Duel

Spot Kick Duel is a penalty shootout game for football and soccer fans in which you take every kick for your side and then pull on the gloves for every kick of theirs. The camera sits low behind the ball for your shot and whips round behind your own goal for theirs, so each round is a pair of tiny duels: can you beat their keeper, and can you read their kicker? Nobody here guesses blind. Their keepers give away their plan in the way they stand, leaning toward a dive, spreading their arms to stay big or bouncing to wait for the ball, and their kickers glance at a corner, then plant a foot and open their hips toward it. The tells shrink and come later as the levels climb, and both sides remember what they have seen: shoot the same third twice and the keeper points at it, dive the same way twice and the kicker taps his temple and goes the other way. The 100 levels run through ten chapters, from a park pitch to a schoolyard, a windy seaside ground, free kicks under floodlights, snow, rain, a rooftop, the desert, an old town and the final, and six power-ups fill up from a meter of stars you earn with goals and saves.

Spot Kick Duel was made for Rankeno Play and first came out in 2026 as an original game. It is free to play in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, needs no download or account to start, and every finished cup run counts on the ranked Rankeno Play leaderboards. Past level 100 the Encore Tour keeps going at full strength with remixed chapters.

Spot Kick Duel tips and strategy

  • A goal pays 100 points, plus 50 near a post or the bar, 50 for a real bend, 100 for a lob, 100 for a free kick and 150 for one that skids under the jumping wall. A ring adds 150 and the golden ring 400. Goals in a row multiply it by up to 2 (10 % per goal), and every score in the game is multiplied by the chapter number (11 in the Encore Tour).
  • A save pays 150, plus 100 for a full-stretch fingertip save, 50 when you dived before the strike and still got there, and 30 for a body block or a stand-big save. A goal or a save that wins the duel, or keeps you in it when the other result would have lost it, adds a 200-point clutch bonus.
  • Winning a duel pays 500 plus 150 per goal of margin, with 500 more for a clean sheet, 300 when every kick you took went in, 300 for winning in sudden death and 1,000 for a final. Each final you win also gives back a life, up to five.
  • The kick clock starts at 5 seconds on level 1 and tightens to 3.2 by level 100; let it run out and the kick counts as a miss. Your aim also sways in a slow loop that grows from nothing on level 1 to about 37 cm by level 100 (60 % more in sudden death and finals, none with Laser Aim), so let go as it passes your spot.
  • Goals earn one star, a ring one more (the golden ring nine more) and saves two, plus one for a stretch or an early read. Fill the meter (4 stars to level 20, 5 to level 60, then 6) for a power-up: Laser Aim from level 1, Big Gloves from 2, Power Boot from 6, Slow-Mo Dive from 12, Extra Life from 15 (once per level) and Ghost Ball from 23.
  • The keeper's feet never lie. From the Rain chapter some keepers lean one way and dive the other, but the step of their feet still shows the true side, and a kicker's plant foot always points where the ball is going, high if he leans back and low if he hunches over it.

Spot Kick Duel FAQ

How do you know which way the keeper will dive in Spot Kick Duel?
Watch him after the whistle. A keeper who is going to guess leans his body and steps his feet toward that side, so you shoot the other way; a keeper with his arms spread wide will stay on his line, so go for a corner; a keeper bouncing on his toes waits for the ball, so bend it into the top corner where he has the furthest to go. On level 1 the lean is huge and stays up the whole time; by level 100 it is small, starts about a second in and lasts less than half a second.
What does the eye over the keeper's head mean?
It means he has scouted you. Two shots in a row to the same third of the goal (or a single lob) and the next keeper may point at that spot and guess it, so the eye and its arrow show where he is going to be: put the ball somewhere else. The same goes the other way round: dive to the same side twice and their next kicker can tap his temple and shoot the other way.
Is Spot Kick Duel free to play?
Yes. Spot Kick Duel is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.
Can I play Spot Kick Duel on my phone or tablet?
Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the portrait stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: drag up from the ball and let go to shoot; swipe, or tap a spot in the goal, to dive. On a computer: Arrows aim (Shift for fine), Q / E bend, C lob, Space or Enter shoot; as keeper ← / → dive (hold ↑ for high, ↓ for low), Space stand big; mouse: drag from the ball, click the goal to dive.
How do the Spot Kick Duel leaderboards work?
