How to play Sky Sprout

About Sky Sprout
Sky Sprout is an endless climbing game where the jumping takes care of itself. A small seed sprout springs off every leaf it lands on, and all you do is steer it sideways to choose the next one. Green leaves are solid, dry brown leaves crumble after a single bounce, clouds drift from side to side, teal bounce caps fling you far higher, and thorny brambles take a petal from the flower on your head. From 400 m up, bees patrol the gaps and bump you back down if you touch them. Water drops fill a bloom meter, and a full meter grows a flowering vine tail that catches you once if you fall.
Sky Sprout is an original Rankeno Play game that launched in 2026. It plays free in any modern browser with nothing to install, and every finished climb counts towards the Rankeno Play leaderboards. Each 1000 m brings a new kind of weather, from a calm morning meadow to gusty ridges, rain showers and a firefly-lit night, and the leaves grow narrower and farther apart as you rise.
Sky Sprout tips and strategy
- Teal bounce caps launch you about 2.6 times as high as a leaf. The view only scrolls upward, so after a big launch pick a landing leaf in the upper half of the screen rather than one near the bottom.
- Dry brown leaves break the moment you bounce off them. Use them to step higher, but never count on falling back to one.
- Your flower carries up to three petals. Each bramble bounce costs one, and with none left a bramble lets you drop straight through it. Every new 1000 m zone returns a petal and every bloom refills all three.
- Twelve drops charge a bloom. While the vine is waiting to save you, more drops still score 5 points each but do not charge the next bloom, so the vine only recharges after it has caught you.
- Rain zones scatter roughly twice as many drops, but steering turns slippery and wet leaves nudge you sideways on each bounce. Start moving earlier and let go sooner.
- Bees always leave clear air above the leaves that make up the main way up, so when one blocks your path, bouncing in place and waiting for it to drift aside is often the safest move. A bump knocks you downward rather than out, so a leaf below can still catch you.
Sky Sprout FAQ
What does the vine do in Sky Sprout?
When twelve water drops fill the bloom meter, your sprout blooms and grows a flowering vine tail and its petals are restored. The next time you would fall off the bottom of the screen, the vine whips you back up with a big rescue bounce and is used up. Leaves you bounce on while the vine is ready sprout little flowers.
How is a Sky Sprout score counted?
You get one point for every metre of your highest point and five points for every water drop you collect. Height markers appear every 100 m, and a banner announces the new weather each time you pass another 1000 m.
Is Sky Sprout free to play?
Yes. Sky Sprout is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.
Can I play Sky Sprout on my phone or tablet?
Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the portrait stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: slide a finger anywhere to steer, or hold where you want to go. On a computer: ← → or A / D to steer (the mouse steers too).
How do the Sky Sprout leaderboards work?
When you are signed in, every finished run is submitted automatically; guest scores are not saved. Boards rank one best score per player (highest points first) for Today, This week and All time, globally or among your friends. Today and This week reset at midnight UTC, and the week starts on Monday.
