Climb card peaks one rank up or down, summit after summit

  • Tap a free card (one with no card overlapping it from the row below) that is one rank above or below the pile card. Ace and King connect.
  • No match? Tap the deck to flip a new pile card, but that cuts the rope and your streak starts again from zero.
  • Every 3 plays in a row lift the multiplier by one, up to ×5, and every 7th play in a row earns a piton: tap it for a wild pile card.

About Summit Solitaire

Summit Solitaire is a peaks-style solitaire played as an expedition. Each summit is a mountain of overlapping cards, and a card is free once nothing in the row below overlaps it. You move free cards onto a single pile, one rank above or below its top card with Ace and King joined, and flip the deck when nothing fits. Six mountain shapes, from the two-humped Foothills to the 31-card Massif, come up in turn, and every new summit pays more per card while the deck gets thinner.

The game is a Rankeno Play original, first released in 2026 and free to play in any browser on a phone or a computer. A run goes on until the first summit you cannot clear, and each finished expedition is scored on the Rankeno Play leaderboards.

Summit Solitaire tips and strategy

  • Plan before you tap. On the first two summits every covered card is face up, so you can trace a chain several cards long and start with the free card that keeps it going.
  • The multiplier climbs one step every 3 plays in a row: ×2 at the 3rd, ×3 at the 6th, up to ×5 at the 12th. One flip of the deck drops it straight back to ×1, so squeeze out every play before you flip.
  • A piton arrives on every 7th play of a streak and you can hold two. Keep one for the end of a summit: once the deck is empty, a wild card can turn a loss into a clear.
  • Placing a piton does not cut the rope, so it can also save a long streak: with the deck still full, a wild card keeps a ×4 or ×5 alive where a flip would reset it.
  • Deck cards you have not flipped pay 20 points each per summit level when you clear (60 each on summit 3), on top of a clear bonus of 100 plus 150 per level.
  • From summit 3, fog hides some covered cards down to their suit colour, and the deck shrinks: 28 cards on the first summit, about 2 fewer on each one after, never fewer than 8. Free the fogged cards early so you know what is coming.

Summit Solitaire FAQ

How does a run of Summit Solitaire end?

On the first summit you cannot clear: the deck is empty, no free card is one rank away from the pile and you hold no piton. Each card left on that summit costs its card value (10 points on summit 1 and 5 more on each summit after), and the score never drops below zero.

What are pitons in Summit Solitaire?

Pitons are wild cards earned on every 7th play in a row, up to two at a time. Tap one, or press W, and it goes on the pile as a wild card that any free card can follow. Using a piton does not reset your streak.

Is Summit Solitaire free to play?

Yes. Summit Solitaire is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.

Can I play Summit Solitaire on my phone or tablet?

Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the portrait stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: tap a free card to play it, tap the deck to flip a new card, tap a piton for a wild card. On a computer: Space flips the deck; ← → or Tab pick a playable card, Enter plays it; 1–9 play the n-th playable card from the left; W places a piton.

How do the Summit Solitaire leaderboards work?

When you are signed in, every finished run is submitted automatically; guest scores are not saved. Boards rank one best score per player (highest points first) for Today, This week and All time, globally or among your friends. Today and This week reset at midnight UTC, and the week starts on Monday.
