Skyline Stack

Drop swinging floors from a crane and build up high

  • The crane swings the next floor on its cable. Tap, click or press Space to release it and it drops straight down.
  • Any part hanging past the floor below is sliced off, so the tower gets narrower.
  • Land dead centre for a PERFECT: bonus points and residents, and every third PERFECT in a row widens the floor again.

How to play Skyline Stack

A tower crane swings the next floor over your skyscraper. Tap to drop it: the overhang is sliced away, and dead-centre drops are PERFECT and bring residents home.

About Skyline Stack

Skyline Stack is a one-button building game seen from the side. A tower crane swings each new floor on a pendulum cable above your skyscraper, and a tap lets it go so it drops straight down onto the roof. Whatever hangs past the floor below is sliced off and tumbles to the street, so a sloppy drop leaves a narrower floor to land next time. Climb high enough and the sky turns from midday blue to sunset and then night, the windows light up, a new building style starts every 25 floors and the wind picks up from floor 20.

Skyline Stack was made for Rankeno Play and came out in 2026 as one of its originals. It plays free in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, and each finished tower goes on the Rankeno Play leaderboards.

Skyline Stack tips and strategy

  • A PERFECT needs the floor’s centre within 6 units of the roof’s centre, out of 540 units across the play area, which is only a few pixels on a phone. The floor falls straight down with no sideways drift, so tap the instant it is lined up.
  • A PERFECT pays 1 for the floor, a 3-point bonus, 1 more for each PERFECT before it in the streak (up to +5) and a point per resident: one for the first PERFECT, up to four from the fourth. From the sixth PERFECT in a row each floor is worth 13 points, against 1 for a plain drop.
  • Every third PERFECT in a row widens the floor by 14 units, up to the starting width of 220. It is the only way to win width back, so protect a streak when the tower is getting thin.
  • Before each floor is ready, the crane’s trolley slides over the middle of your roof, so the floor crosses the centre at the fastest point of its swing. Watch a swing or two and tap on the rhythm instead of chasing the floor.
  • The swing keeps speeding up and widening until floor 80. From floor 20, gusts lasting 3 to 5 seconds lean the whole swing to one side, and the windsock and GUST arrow show which way. There is no timer, so you can let a gust die down before you drop.
  • An overlap thinner than 6 units slips off the edge and ends the run just like a clean miss, so a very narrow tower survives only on PERFECT drops.

Skyline Stack FAQ

How do residents work in Skyline Stack?

Residents move only into floors placed with a PERFECT drop. The first PERFECT of a streak brings one, the second two, the third three and every PERFECT after that four, each worth a point. A plain drop resets the streak, so the next PERFECT starts again with one resident.

What ends a run in Skyline Stack?

Only a miss. A floor that lands completely off the roof, or overlaps it by less than 6 units, falls to the street and the run ends. There is no timer and there are no lives, so you can watch the swing for as long as you like before each drop.

Is Skyline Stack free to play?

Yes. Skyline Stack is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.

Can I play Skyline Stack on my phone or tablet?

Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the portrait stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: tap anywhere to drop. On a computer: Space, Enter or ↓ to drop.

How do the Skyline Stack leaderboards work?

When you are signed in, every finished run is submitted automatically; guest scores are not saved. Boards rank one best score per player (highest points first) for Today, This week and All time, globally or among your friends. Today and This week reset at midnight UTC, and the week starts on Monday.
