How to play
A rotating-wall dodge game on the beat: walls close in on a glowing core with every kick drum, and you turn a small cursor around it to slip through the gaps. Grab the gold shards in the gaps for up to a ×9 multiplier, swipe to phase straight through a wall, and survive 100 levels in 10 shape chapters, then an endless remix.
- Hold the left or right half of the screen (or ← / →, A / D) to turn your cursor around the core. Walls rush in on the beat: stay in the gaps.
- Pick up the gold shards that ride in the gaps (on the first five levels they drift along the gap to you). Every 4 in a row raise your multiplier by one, up to ×9; letting one fly past resets it to ×1.
- Shards also charge a phase (you can hold 2). Swipe sideways, press Space, ↑ or W, or right-click to dash through the next wall.
- A wall hit costs a life, and you start with 3 (5 at most). The walls near the core burst and you get a moment of safety; the very first hit in the first 15 seconds is free.
- Levels end on the clock. Every tenth level is a Gauntlet that gives a life back, and levels 5, 15, 25 and so on are Shard Rain.
Controls

About Hex Pulse
Hex Pulse is a rotating-wall dodge game and a rhythm reflex game in one. A glowing shape sits in the middle of the screen and rings of neon walls rush in toward it in time with the music while the whole view spins. You steer a small cursor around the core and keep it in the gaps; holding one side turns it one way, the other side turns it back. Gold shards ride in the gaps and build a multiplier, and once enough are collected a swipe phases the cursor straight through a wall, the escape when the gap is on the far side. The run is one continuous track through 100 levels in 10 chapters, each with its own shape, colour and beat: Square, Pentagon, Hexagon, then Spin Flip where the spin snaps the other way on cue, Negative where the colours flip and hollow ghost walls are harmless, Zoom where the view breathes, Spiral staircases, Double Walls where thin fast walls overtake the slow ones, the narrow Heptagon and finally the Pulse Core, whose shape keeps changing under you. The tempo climbs from 110 to 150 beats per minute along the way.
Every tenth level is a Gauntlet with denser patterns and a big bonus, every level ending in 5 is a Shard Rain, and after level 100 the endless remix mixes all ten chapters while the walls keep tightening. Hex Pulse is a Rankeno Play original, first released in 2026. It runs free in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer with nothing to install, and every finished run is ranked on the Rankeno Play leaderboards.

Hex Pulse tips and strategy
- Keep the shard chain alive. Each shard pays 50 points times your multiplier, a gold one in Shard Rain pays double, and the multiplier climbs one step for every 4 shards in a row up to ×9. It also pays out on every beat you survive (10 times the multiplier), so a long chain is worth far more than any single trick.
- Graze the walls on purpose. Passing a wall with the cursor right at the edge of the gap scores a CLOSE worth 25 times the multiplier, and the game even nudges you out of a wall you clipped by a hair instead of taking a life.
- Save a phase for the long way round. When the only gap is on the far side of the shape, a phase dashes the cursor through the wall run next to it in a tenth of a second and pays 100 times the multiplier; it costs 4 shards at the start and 7 by level 75, and you can store 2.
- Watch for the cue before a flip. From the Spin Flip chapter the spin reverses on the bar, and an arrow plus a sound one beat earlier tell you which way it is about to go.
- Power-ups appear in the gaps as you progress: a Shield from level 3 (one free hit, rarer after level 20), +1 Life on every fourth level from 4 to 20, Slow Pulse from 6 (the music and the walls slow down for 6 seconds), Magnet Shards from 9, Score ×2 from 13 (12 seconds of double points) and the Phase Cell from 17, which fills both phase charges at once.
- Clearing a level pays 100 points times the level number, doubled when you took no hit in it. A Gauntlet adds 2,000 times the chapter number and a life, up to 5.
