About Melon Truck
Melon Truck is a physics shooting game. You fire striped melons from a cannon on a truck bed and try to land them in bowls worth 100, 500 or 1,000 points, banking off pegs, planks, spinning gears and drifting clouds on the way. Each level gives you five melons and asks for 1,600 points; the first level you fail ends the run, and the campaign stops after 30 levels. In Duruyo Land (still) the bowls stay put, while in Oynuyo Land (moving) they sway back and forth.
Melon Truck was first released for iPhone and iPad in 2011. This version has been rebuilt to run in the browser on Rankeno Play, where it is free to play and keeps a separate leaderboard for each mode.
Melon Truck tips and strategy
- Aim for 3,000 rather than 1,600. A Perfect adds 1,000 points on top of the pass bonus of 100 times the level number, so a Perfect on level 10 earns 2,000 in bonuses.
- A bank shot adds 100 for each firm bounce off a peg, plank, gear or cloud, up to 300, but only when the melon ends in a scoring bowl.
- Angle and power stay set between shots, and in Duruyo Land the bowls and wind stay fixed all level, so after a hit Space fires the same arc again unless a moving obstacle crosses it.
- A ? bubble pays +250 or +500 seven times in ten and costs 250 otherwise, so clipping one on the way to a bowl is a good bet on average.
- When a − or 0 bubble sits on your line, change the angle instead of hoping to slip past: every level keeps at least one route into each scoring bowl clear of them.
- In Oynuyo Land bowls sway on a steady cycle that quickens in later levels. Watch one full swing, then time shots to drop in near its end, where side-to-side movement is slowest.
Melon Truck FAQ
What score do you need to pass a level in Melon Truck?
You need 1,600 points from your five melons. A pass adds 100 times the level number, 3,000 or more counts as a Perfect worth another 1,000, and finishing under 1,600 ends the run.
How many levels does Melon Truck have?
The campaign has 30 levels built from ten layout templates. Bowls shrink and more obstacles appear up to level 10, and wind arrives at level 5 in Duruyo Land or level 6 in Oynuyo Land. Clearing level 30 ends the run with every point banked.
Is Melon Truck free to play?
Yes. Melon Truck is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.
Can I play Melon Truck on my phone or tablet?
Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the landscape stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: drag back to aim, release to fire. On a computer: ← → angle; ↑ ↓ power; Space fire.
How do the Melon Truck leaderboards work?
When you are signed in, every finished run is submitted automatically; guest scores are not saved. Melon Truck has two modes — Duruyo Land (still) and Oynuyo Land (moving) — each with its own boards. Boards rank one best score per player (highest points first) for Today, This week and All time, globally or among your friends. Today and This week reset at midnight UTC, and the week starts on Monday.
