How to play Melon Crate
Drop produce into the wooden crate on the Melon Truck. Two matching pieces that touch merge into the next size up, and two striped melons become a golden melon delivered to the cab.
- Drag, move the mouse or press ←/→ to aim the claw, then let go, click or press Space to drop.
- Two matching produce that touch merge into the next one up: blueberry, cherry tomato, lime, plum, peach, pomegranate, mango, pineapple, cantaloupe, striped melon.
- Two striped melons make a golden melon that flies to the cab: 1,500 points plus a 1,000 delivery bonus.
- When the BUMP sign counts down, a pothole jolts the crate and the pile hops the way its arrow points.
- Keep everything under the dashed rim line. Produce resting above it for 2 seconds fills the crate and ends the run.

About Melon Crate
Melon Crate is a drop-and-merge physics puzzle set in the wooden crate on the back of the Melon Truck. A sliding claw drops small produce, and any two matching pieces that touch merge into the next size up, from a blueberry all the way to a striped melon. Two striped melons make a golden melon that flies off to the cab as a delivery and frees room in the crate. The road is not smooth either: a pothole jolts the whole load every 25 to 35 seconds.
Melon Crate is a Rankeno Play original, first released in 2026, and it stars the same green truck as Melon Truck. You can play it for free right in your browser, and every finished run is ranked on the Rankeno Play leaderboard.
Melon Crate tips and strategy
- Only the first five produce ever come out of the claw, blueberry to peach, and blueberries are the most common at 30 percent of drops. Everything from pomegranate up has to be built by merging.
- Points climb steeply with size: a cherry tomato merge is worth 1, a peach 12, a mango 60, a cantaloupe 290 and a striped melon 640. Building big produce pays far more than piling up small merges.
- Merges less than 1.5 seconds apart raise a combo multiplier by 0.25 per step, up to ×2. A chain where each new piece sets off the next merge can double a big payout, though the 1,000 delivery bonus is never multiplied.
- Watch the arrow on the BUMP sign. The jolt throws the pile upward and pushes it the way the arrow points, so two matching produce sitting a little apart on that side often meet after the hop.
- The claw takes half a second to reload after each drop, and the NEXT and THEN board shows the two pieces after the one in the claw. Plan two drops ahead instead of dropping as fast as you can.
- Keep the biggest produce low in one corner with the sizes shrinking toward the middle, so each merge rolls into the next one up. A piece that bounces above the rim and falls back is safe: the crate only counts as full after something rests above the line for 2 seconds.
Melon Crate FAQ
What happens when two striped melons touch in Melon Crate?
They merge into a golden melon, the top of the chain. It does not stay in the crate: it flies to the roof rack on the truck cab as a delivery worth 1,500 points times your combo multiplier plus a flat 1,000 bonus, and the room the two melons took is freed.
What does the BUMP sign mean in Melon Crate?
Every 25 to 35 seconds the truck hits a pothole. A yellow road sign counts down 3, 2, 1 with an arrow, then the crate jolts: everything hops upward and slides toward the arrow, which can knock matching produce together or shake a stuck piece loose.
Is Melon Crate free to play?
Yes. Melon Crate is free on Rankeno Play and runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to download or install. You can play straight away as a guest; a free account is only needed to save scores to the leaderboards.
Can I play Melon Crate on my phone or tablet?
Yes. It runs in mobile and desktop browsers, and the portrait stage scales to fit your screen. On a touchscreen: drag to aim; let go to drop. On a computer: ←/→ or A/D to aim; Space, Enter or ↓ to drop.
How do the Melon Crate leaderboards work?
When you are signed in, every finished run is submitted automatically; guest scores are not saved. Boards rank one best score per player (highest points first) for Today, This week and All time, globally or among your friends. Today and This week reset at midnight UTC, and the week starts on Monday.
