Drive over endless desert dunes and lob melons into winged baskets. Every catch adds time; shoot the M-E-L-O-N letters to push your multiplier to ×5.

- Shoot the letters M-E-L-O-N in order. Each one raises your multiplier, up to ×5, and N pays a big bonus.
- Shoot coins for points. Grab power-ups for Freeze (F: baskets stop for 5 s) and Brake (B: the truck holds still for 8 s).

About Melon Truck 2
Melon Truck 2 is an endless arcade shooter. You drive a cannon truck over desert dunes and lob melons into winged baskets crossing the sky, worth 100, 250 or 500 points. The clock starts at 60 seconds and each catch adds time, while a melon that hits the sand after the first 12 seconds costs one of three lives. Collecting the letters M-E-L-O-N builds a multiplier of up to ×5, and each new stage, every six catches, brings smaller and faster baskets.
Melon Truck 2 was first released for iPhone and iPad in 2012. It has been rebuilt to run in the browser on Rankeno Play, free to play and with leaderboards.
Melon Truck 2 tips and strategy
- Each basket in an unbroken streak adds 50 to the next one’s value, up to +500 from the 11th in a row. One melon in the sand resets the streak, even during the free-miss warm-up.
- The letter multiplier never drops during a run, so chase M, E, L and O early. Every later basket and coin is multiplied, and each N after that pays 5,000 at ×5.
- The truck’s speed is added to every melon’s horizontal speed, so driving toward a basket stretches the shot. The aiming arc already includes it, and the cannon can tilt past vertical to fire behind you.
- Freeze stops every basket for 5 seconds, which suits the small, fast 500-point baskets. You can hold only three charges, so spend one before a new pickup would be wasted.
- Brake stops the truck rolling on dune slopes for 8 seconds while you are not driving, so you can fire a steady volley with up to three melons in the air.
- A catch adds 3 seconds in stages 1–3, then 2.5, 2 and finally 1.5 from stage 10, with a new stage every six baskets, so build spare time early, up to the 99-second cap.

What do the M-E-L-O-N letters do in Melon Truck 2?
The letters float in one at a time, in order. M, E, L and O raise the multiplier to ×2, ×3, ×4 and ×5, and it stays for the rest of the run. N pays 1,000 times your multiplier, then the word starts again from M.
How do you get a life back in Melon Truck 2?
Every eighth basket you score restores one life, up to the maximum of three. Lives are lost only when a melon hits the sand after the first 12 seconds; a basket that flies away uncaught costs nothing.
