How to play

A slingshot physics game on the beach: fire water balloons at sandcastles, soak the sand until it slumps and knock every cheeky crab off the walls, across 100 levels in ten seaside chapters with beaches of two and three castles, boss keeps, bonus Shell Rush rounds and six kinds of balloon.

  1. Press anywhere, drag back and let go to fire the balloon in the slingshot. The dotted line shows the start of its flight.
  2. Knock every crab off the castle: a crab that lands on the sand, slides into the sea or loses its grip scuttles away.
  3. Splashes soak the sand. Soaked blocks turn dark and weak, and a fully soaked block carrying weight sags and slumps.
  4. Tap while a balloon is flying to use its trick, and tap the tray at the bottom left to swap which balloon is loaded.
  5. From chapter three a level is a short beach of two or three castles. Clear one and the camera pans to the next: the balloons in your tray carry over, and the tide washes up a few more if you are running low.
  6. Run out of balloons with crabs left and you lose a bucket; the castle that held out comes back with a spare balloon.

About Sandcastle Soak

Sandcastle Soak is a slingshot physics game set on a sunny beach. Every level is a sandcastle built from sand blocks, driftwood planks, stones and later coral, packed bucket towers and fizz kegs, with crabs sitting on the towers, bridges and roofs or hiding inside its rooms. You fire water balloons from a driftwood slingshot to bring the walls down. The twist is the water: every splash soaks the sand around it, soaked blocks lose most of their strength, and a fully soaked block that is holding something up sags for a moment and then slumps into a pile, so a careful first splash can make the next shot collapse a whole tower. The 100 levels run through ten chapters, from Sunny Shore, Tide Pools and Boardwalk Pier to Breezy Dunes, Sunset Cove, Coral Lagoon, Moonlit Bay, Shipwreck Reef, Storm Coast and the Grand Festival, and each one brings something new such as stones, hermit crabs, pier stilts, seesaws, wind, sun-hat crabs, pacing scuttlers, fizz kegs, hanging stones and rain-damp sand. From Boardwalk Pier on, each level is a short beach of two, and later three, castles that the camera pans across while your balloons carry over. Every 10th level ends in a bigger keep held by a crowned boss crab with several hearts, and after level 100 the tides keep bringing remixed beaches.

Sandcastle Soak is a Rankeno Play original, first released in 2026. It runs free in the browser on phones and computers with nothing to download, and every run can be posted to the ranked Rankeno Play leaderboards.

Sandcastle Soak tips and strategy

  • Aim for what holds a crab up rather than the crab itself. A crab that ends up on the sand counts as knocked off, so toppling the tower under it, or the plank it stands on, often clears it even when the balloon never touches it.
  • Use the soak. A splash soaks the block it bursts on right through and darkens the blocks around it, and a soaked block that is holding something up sags and slumps 0.6 seconds later. One splash on the base of a tall tower can bring the whole thing down a moment after it lands.
  • Spare balloons are worth 1,000 points each when the last castle on the beach falls, every castle cleared with a single balloon adds 2,000, and the last crab on the beach knocked off with your very last balloon pays a 1,500-point clutch bonus. Several crabs off with one balloon is a domino: the second pays 250 extra, the third 500 extra and so on.
  • Learn the tricks: tap a Triple mid-air to split it into three, tap a Fizz to burst it with a shove that pushes blocks apart, and tap a plain Splash high above a roof to shower everything below. Freeze soaked sand with an Ice balloon and it shatters at the next knock.
  • From Breezy Dunes on, the arrows under the crab counter show the wind: more arrows, stronger wind. The dotted preview ignores it, so aim a little into the wind, and lob over dune ridges instead of firing flat into them.
  • Watch the Big Wave meter under your tray: broken and toppled blocks and knocked-off crabs fill it, it carries from castle to castle, and when it is full your next balloon becomes a Mega Splash that soaks a whole wing of the castle.

Sandcastle Soak FAQ

How do lives work in Sandcastle Soak?
You start with three sand buckets and can hold five. A castle that still has crabs when your last balloon has landed costs one bucket, and that castle is rebuilt with one extra balloon (two on the next try), plus fresh balloons for any castles still standing behind it. Up to level 100, from the third try its crabs come back tired and lose their grip twice as fast. Reaching a new chapter from chapter three on, clearing a boss keep, clearing five castles in a row on the first try, or popping a golden bucket gives a bucket back. The run ends when the last bucket is gone.
What do the special balloons and pickups do?
The Triple splits into three, the Coconut is heavy and smashes planks, the Beach ball bounces three times, the Fizz bursts with a shove, the Ice balloon freezes soaked sand into brittle ice, and the Mega Splash comes from a full Big Wave meter. Popping a pearl clam adds a balloon to your tray, a starfish doubles your points for the rest of the castle, and a golden bucket gives a life.
